We gather in worship to find meaning and live more deeply. Worship creates connections within, among, and beyond us, calling us to our better selves, calling us to live with wisdom and compassion. You are welcome to participate in the various activities, or not, as you are able and comfortable.
Elements of a typical UUCLC Sunday morning include:
- 9:30 Discussion Group. ONSITE ONLY, unless otherwise noted. Topics for each week are published in the weekly Bulletin, and other venues. Guest speakers from the community often lead the discussion. See policies and procedures here.
- 11:00 Service.
- Words of welcome, recognition of new visitors or returning members who wish to introduce themselves.
- Lighting the chalice, the symbol of our faith
- Music, both instrumental and vocal and in a variety of styles, typically beginning the service with a UU favorite, Spirit of Life.
- Expression of individual joys and concerns through our stone ritual, aloud, or in silence
- A meditation or prayer
- Readings—ancient or contemporary
- A sermon given by our minister, a guest speaker, or a member of the congregation.
- An offering, collecting financial donations for the congregation or for justice work in the community.
- Conclude by (now, symbolically) holding hands and singing a UUCLC favorite, Weave.
- After the service
- Coffee and Conversation in the Social Hall.
- Pot luck luncheon the first Sunday of the month
