The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lake County invites you to join us for an Online Social Justice Forum Examining the 2022 Florida Legislative Session in Light of Our Values

7 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2022

The 2022 Florida Legislative Session is scheduled from January 11th to March 11th. UU Justice Florida has identified many important pending bills, and recommends that UU members support some and oppose others. Our forum will describe these bills, explain the legislative process, and provide advocacy tips.

Guest Speaker: Nancy Hurlbert

Nancy Hurlbert is a frequent lecturer and advocate regarding bills pending before Florida’s Senate and House of Representatives. She has gone to Tallahassee on many occasions and met with Lake County’s state legislators on bills that affect women and families. She was President of the Florida Women’s Consortium (FWC), a statewide organization of more than 30 women’s organizations throughout the state of Florida, representing some 250,000 members. She is a retired civil engineer.

The discussion will be followed by questions from the public.
