9:30 Discussion. LCDR Kathryn Wilgus, Retired, will tell us about “Ashley’s House,” a planned 4,000 square-foot transitional group home to be constructed on Grove Street in Eustis, Florida, dedicated to the memory of First Lieutenant Ashley White-Stumpf, 24. “The house will be an all-female veteran transition home offering women veterans a temporary safe haven while also providing job training, counseling, and much needed female camaraderie as they work towards self-sufficiency in a secure and loving environment,” says Marie Bogdonoff, founder and CEO of Villagers for Veterans. ONSITE ONLY.
11:00 Celebration of Life. Rev. Cynthia Snavely’s topic will be ”The Ethics of Sex.” She states “Maybe in a past religious affiliation you were taught a list of don’ts as the prescribed ethics of sex. That is not the Unitarian Universalist way. We too though do need an ethic of sex. I believe ours should not be a list of ‘thou shalt nots…’ but an ethic based on our affirmation of the inherent worth and dignity of all people including ourselves.” ONSITE and VIA ZOOM.
