Event Type

A Blanket Exercise is a unique, participatory history experience that fosters truth about the past, expands understanding of the human and environmental costs, and increases respect for the original people who lived in this land before the Europeans arrived. The purpose of a Blanket Exercise is to experience the painful reality of “land loss”. But it also encourages our regard for the loss of life, cultural and sacred elements, and the continual impact on the dignity, rights, and dreams of these indigenous people.
