Cottages on Grove Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Forward Paths Foundation and HomeAid Orlando held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the project.   Many UUCLC members attended and provided home baked cookies for refreshments.

“It’s been a goal for Forward Paths Foundation, Inc. for the past 10+ years to own our own houses for the youth in our program. We assist our area’s young adults who have aged-out of the foster care system and those who are at risk of homelessness. These 10 tiny houses will be a place for them to live while they go to school and work until they’re ready to live independently. It’s located in Eustis, FL just one mile from the tech school where a lot of the youth in our program go to school.
It been a long road and a lot of hard work to get here, but it’s really been a joy working on this project. Seeing the community come together and the excitement from everyone involved along the way has been an inspiring light in what can sometimes seem like a chaotic and disconnected world. The youth in the program who have pitched in, the board who fought to make this a reality, and the donors who gave their time and money to make it all happen, the construction crews who donated their labor and often their materials to make this a reality for our program, thank you.”  (quote and photos from the Forward Paths Facebook page)
