In cooperation with Rev. Michael J. Watson and his Friendship Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, UUCLC is celebrating the Legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event will be held at UUCLC on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Guided by Rev. Watson and UUCLC’s Rev. Cynthia Snavely, we will hear from these six speakers on Dr. King’s many legacies: Rev. William Hawkins on civil rights, Ms. Cassandra Brown on voting rights, Ms. Martha Taylor on the NAACP, Rev. Reginald Green on the church, Ms. Dee Dailey-Griffen on education, and Ms. Mae Hazelton on non-violent protest. Music will be provided by Ms. Terri Sullivan. After this uplisting program, please join us for fellowship and dessert in the Social Hall. This event is hosted by UUCLC’s Social Justice and Environment Committee.
